Fabriano

The monastery was founded in the 13th century from the merger of two monasteries, one of which was located extra moenia (outside the walls). At the end of the 18th century, it joined a third monastery, that of the Poor Clare Sisters. It was suppressed by the Italian State in 1866, causing the loss of all its assets; however, the monastery was repurchased by the nuns in the following years. The church, originally dating back to the 14th century, was entirely rebuilt during the Baroque period. Laypeople are invited to participate in the liturgy, including Mass and the Divine Office. Lauds and Vespers are sung.
The schedule is as follows: Lauds and meditation or guided prayer at 7:00 AM; Holy Mass at 8:00 AM (8:45 AM on feast days); Terce at 12:00 PM; None at 2:45 PM; Vespers at 6:00 PM; and Compline at 8:30 PM. Upon request, meditations and Lectio Divina sessions are offered for groups, with topics to be agreed upon in advance.
Hospitality: the monastery can accommodate up to 30 people in single or twin rooms with private bathrooms, for those coming to pray, share in the nuns’ liturgical life, or on pilgrimage. Meals are provided by the nuns. The onsite printing press, bookbindery, and embroidery workshop remain active.

A tablecloth will be available along with an elegant yet simple tea and coffee set in the kitchen cabinets, where you will also find some tableware. A stovetop is available in the room so you can make coffee just like at home. And it will be, we hope, a very good morning.

The house has been renovated in shabby chic style, making maximum use of existing materials. It is intimate, distinctive, and welcoming. A sense of well-being fills the heart, and a scent of antiquity makes you realize you are in a unique place.

Located just a few meters from Fabriano train station and the medieval town center, both easily reachable on foot, “La Filigrana” is a newly renovated property with rooms equipped with all modern comforts. Breakfast is on us. At reception, you will receive coupons for breakfast at the historic “Lott” pastry shop, located just 10 meters from our property.
